Explore our Unit Study Approach with...

Beekeeping

Welcome to a glimpse of our innovative unit study approach at B.E.E. Home Education, where learning is both dynamic and integrated. Each unit, such as our beekeeping theme, spans four weeks, immersing students in a singular topic that connects to all core subjects. This method allows learners to explore a subject in depth, seeing connections across disciplines through a central theme.

Our unique educational model is designed to cater to a wide range of ages and learning stages. While all students engage in the same thematic study, the complexity of the material is tailored to the individual’s level of mastery. This ensures that younger students grasp the foundational concepts, while older or more advanced learners tackle more complex aspects of the same theme.

Throughout the beekeeping unit, for example, students will not only learn about the science behind bee behavior and ecology but also explore mathematical concepts through hive geometry, read and write about bees in literature, and delve into the historical significance of beekeeping in various cultures. The beauty of this approach is that it integrates learning across subjects seamlessly, making education a cohesive and compelling experience.

To enhance this experience, we provide customized activity kits that are mailed directly to students. These kits contain age-appropriate materials and challenges, ensuring that while the instruction is unified in a group setting, the hands-on activities meet each learner's specific developmental needs.
